Mr. Head is not the blogger’s real name. The Chip Head nickname was given to Mr. Head by coworkers on a software implementation project many years ago. To age Mr. Head, his first experience with computers was a Fortran programming class (pictured above) required for all business majors. They wrote little programs using punch cards to run on a big mainframe. As events would unfold, employers were more interested in Mr. Head’s minimal computer skills than his accounting and finance education. And with dogged determination, Mr. Head transitioned gracefully from punch cards to keyboard and mouse.
