There has been much made recently regarding the Federal KIAs (know-it-alls) wanting to limit paychecks for employees in the financial industry. Opponents claim it is not such a good idea. Yale Law School Professor Jonathan Macey stated, “This is a very bad trend.”
That may be so, but KIAs instructing America’s businesses how much to pay their employees is nothing new. Been going on since October 1938. That is when the KIAs deemed $0.25 per hour the least one could be paid, whether they earned it or not.
Why not a maximum wage if we have lived with a minimum wage for over 70 years? Come to think of it, there are some Hollywood types that should sacrifice a little like the rest of us…way over paid!

Everything in the news (I like to call them the antique media, others call them the main street media or drive by media) for months has been how wonderful the Obamas are for America. How lucky we little people are to have them as our first couple, ruling us with such benevolence.
There are a few reasons the antique media continues the constant onslaught of such unprofessional reporting, one of which is to demoralize conservatives and Republicans (which we know are not the same thing, but Democrats/liberals think is). Try as they might, just ask yourself this: Why is it we have heard people that voted for Senator Obama say it was a mistake yet nobody that voted for Senator McCain say the same thing?

The 135th Kentucky Derby was one of the greatest horse races in history. Add the background stories of the lowly horse, the injured trainer, the exuberant jockey and you have a great American legend in the making.
Oh, yes…the best thing may be there were no fist bumps on TV after the race. Just like the good ol’ days.

Published in thewashingtonpost.com on Tuesday, May 5, 2009:
“Murtech received its contracts primarily from the Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala., which has been generous to companies in John Murtha’s district and enjoys a close relationship with the congressman through a mutual interest in breast cancer research. The Army command has won at least $200 million a year in federal funding for the cancer research, of which Rep. Murtha is a stalwart supporter. In a program called Missiles to Mammograms the command has collaborated with a contractor in Murtha’s district, Windber Medical Center, in a multimillion-dollar project to explore using missile-tracking technology to detect breast cancer.”
