Recently Mr. Chip Head came into the possession of a Coexist bumper sticker. At first he did not understand the concept of coexisting when there were so many evil and bad people in the world. 9/11 and Rahm Emanuel are just two such examples. A few weeks later he read the following story and finally figured out the meaning of Coexist:
A U.S. Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist, badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.
The Marine reported, “I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway
here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent. We saw each other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, lowlife scum bag who got what he deserved, and he yelled back that Ted Kennedy is a fat, good-for-nothing, left wing liberal drunk who doesn’t know how to drive.
“So I shouted that Osama bin Ladin dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling that also goes for Hillary Clinton! And there we were, in the middle of the road, shaking hands, when a truck hit us.”

As is well known, Senator Kennedy is suffering from a brain tumor. He is receiving the best medical care available. If he was covered by the government health care plan currently proposed by the administration, he would not be alive today.

The 135th Kentucky Derby was one of the greatest horse races in history. Add the background stories of the lowly horse, the injured trainer, the exuberant jockey and you have a great American legend in the making.
Oh, yes…the best thing may be there were no fist bumps on TV after the race. Just like the good ol’ days.

Now that Mr. Bush has left the White House, it is safe to say he accomplished at least one good thing during his Presidency; he did not allow his Attorney General to kidnap children at gunpoint and send them to communist countries (Elian Gonzalez) or attack innocent Americans causing 75 deaths (Waco Siege and Massacre).
Given President Obama’s marvelous talent to talk to his enemies without precondition, we can rest assured the Gestapo tactics of the Clinton/Reno reign will not be repeated during the current administration. Thank heaven for small favors.

This little history of governmental gun control has been floating around the Internet. Usually, words401 publishes original content, but this is some history we all need to keep in mind:
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1938, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1956, Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1964, Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1970, Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
During the 20th Century, in the guise of gun control, nearly 56 million defenseless people were rounded up and exterminated.

Golfer Tiger Woods did not have his usual successes last week.
Mr. Woods made his competitive return after eight months recovering from knee surgery. It was not a good showing. He lost in the second round of the match play tournament to Tim Clark, the same player who he beat handily two years ago. Mr. Clark is 0 for 176 in PGA tournaments. He may be a nice follow, but not the usual suspect for beating Mr. Woods. OUCH!
Mr. Woods also found out the guy to whom he lost his political virginity wants to add $5,883,400 to his annual tax bill. OUCH! ($127,900,000 of income in 2007 times a rate increase from 35.0% to 39.6%.) An expensive lesson in voting for a tax-and-spend socialist.

Why would anybody want to be a United States Senator making $158,100 per year, when they could make $5.2 million in four years in the private sector?
($158,100 was the annual salary for Senator Tom Daschle when the citizens of South Dakota decided not to renew his contract in 2004. $5.2 million is the approximate earnings of Mr. Daschle as a productive member of the working class since he vacated his Senate office on January 3, 2005.)

It is heart warming this holiday season to know our leaders in government are living by the principles they espouse, such as: providing low-income housing; assisting ex-felons with access to job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling; improving living conditions in poor neighborhoods; and providing the national and community service they advocate.
In California, House Leader Nancy Pelosi has opened the three hospitality businesses in which she and her husband Paul are partners. The Auberge du Soleil resort hotel, the CordeValle Golf Club, and the Piatti Italian restaurants are hosting the local homeless while providing three meals a day to drug addicts.
Meanwhile, Senate Leader Harry Reid has donated the $1.1 million he earned in 2004 from his ethically-challenged land swap deal to Habitat for Humanity.
Lastly, but most importantly, President-elect Barack Obama and his lovely family struggled with the terrible Chicago winter weather to work the soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and rescue missions. This show of leadership, when the Obama’s could have just as easily gone to some tropical paradise for the holidays, is what makes one proud to be an American.
